PHOENIX (AP) — An elementary school bus carrying 30 junior high students lost an axle on a Phoenix street, but authorities say there's no injuries.
The Washington Elementary School District bus was at Seventh Street and Greenway Parkway around 4 p.m. Thursday when the rear axle came off.
A spokeswoman for the district says paramedics checked on the students and determined there were no injuries.
Parents were called to pick up their children from the scene.
Authorities say it's not immediately clear why the axle broke free of the bus.
Mechanics with the district's transportation department will investigate.
