HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Marshall University's interim president is making the rounds next month to introduce himself to West Virginians.
President Gary G. White will attend receptions in Point Pleasant and South Charleston to meet Marshall students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends. The Point Pleasant reception is Feb. 3, while the South Charleston event is scheduled for Feb. 19.
White was appointed by the Marshall University Board of Governors last month to replace Stephen J. Kopp.
The 63-year-old Kopp died suddenly on Dec. 17 after being hospitalized for an illness.
White will lead the university while its board conducts a search for a permanent president. The search is expected to take up to nine months.
