SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say a fire in a luxury hotel in downtown Salt Lake City is suspicious and they're investigating the cause.

Salt Lake City Deputy Fire Chief Brian Dale says crews were called to the Little America Hotel a little before 3 a.m. on Friday. He says the blaze was contained to one room and was under control within a half hour of the original report.

Dale says hotel managers evacuated some guests who were staying near the room, although he says he isn't sure how many people were displaced.

No injuries were reported.

Dale says a person was registered to the room, but was not there when crews arrived.

A damage estimate was not immediately available.
