DETROIT (AP) — Police say a 16-year-old Detroit boy was shot in the head while he and friends played with a gun in the basement of a home.
Officer Jennifer Moreno tells The Detroit News (http://bit.ly/1AOoZZG ) that the shooting happened about 1:30 p.m. Thursday at a home in the city's historic Virginia Park neighborhood, about three miles north of downtown.
Moreno says the teen and friends ages 19 and 17 were in the basement, and it wasn't immediately clear who pulled the trigger.
She says the victim was in critical condition at a hospital Thursday afternoon.
Moreno says police are holding and questioning the other two teens.
