PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Relatives of Shane Montgomery say keys belonging to the missing college student were recovered from a river in Philadelphia.
The family said in an email update that volunteers with the Garden State Underwater Recovery Unit found the West Chester University student's "personal keys" in the Schuylkill (SKOO'-kuhl) River following a four and one-half-hour search on Sunday.
The update said no further evidence was found about the fate of 21-year-old Montgomery, who had been out with friends until about 2 a.m. Thanksgiving morning and never made it home. Family members said they would "continue to hope for further evidence."
FBI officials said earlier this month that Montgomery had been walking between the Manayunk Canal and the Schuylkill River soon after he left a nearby bar last month.
