GREENEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A baby and toddler were found dead inside a home Wednesday, and authorities said they were not sure how they died.

Greeneville Police Det. Capt. Tim Davis said emergency dispatchers received a call at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday about a 13-month-old infant in distress. Officials also found a 2-month-old unresponsive at the home.

Davis said the babies were siblings and their parents were home at the time. Davis declined to release any names or the sex of the babies.

The parents were questioned but not detained, The Greeneville Sun (http://bit.ly/1sGSP1o) reported.

"At this time, we have no idea what is going on, what caused this," Davis said.

Neighbor Albert Holt told the newspaper the people who lived at that house had moved in recently. He said he stepped outside when he heard the fire truck arrive.

"I heard a woman screaming and I saw a man carry a child out to an ambulance," Holt said. "There was some yelling and screaming going on. The lady was just losing it."

Neighbor Vickey Holland said she had seen the infant and toddler out in the yard the previous day. On Wednesday afternoon, a red tricycle was on the lawn near the front door.

Autopsies were planned. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been asked to help police along with the state Department of Children's Services.

Greeneville is about 65 miles northeast of Knoxville.
