ATLANTA (AP) — A rule smoking ban at all University System of Georgia campuses is scheduled to go into effect this week.

The University System of Georgia smoking and tobacco ban goes into effect Wednesday and applies to all 31 member institutions.

Officials have said the tobacco ban will apply to all employees, students, contractors and visitors on all property owned, leased rented or in the possession of the University System of Georgia.

The ban will also apply to events being hosted by institutions within the system.
