STILLWATER, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota man who taught in a western Wisconsin high school has pleaded guilty to having sex with two female students.

Thirty-seven-year-old Matthew Koenen (KOH'-nen) of Stillwater entered the plea Monday in Washington County court to two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He said he had separate "inappropriate and romantic" relationships with the Grantsburg High School students who were 16 years old at the time.

Prosecutors say he persuaded the girls to go to his house in Stillwater after conversations on cellphones and email accounts that he hid from his wife. The school asked him to resign after learning of text messages he exchanged with one of the girls.

His attorney says he was on medication for depression in the months before the incidents. The judge ordered a psychosexual evaluation.
