NEW ORLEANS (AP) — A Children's Hospital physician has been elected president of the American Association of Pediatric Urologists.

The hospital says Dr. Joseph Ortenberg will serve a one-year term.

The group's main purposes are promoting treatment quality and education about treatment of genito-urinary disorders in children.

Ortenberg sees patients at Children's Hospital's main facility in New Orleans and its operations in Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Covington.

He is professor of urology and pediatrics at LSU Health Sciences Center and director of the urology department at Children's Hospital.
