OLEAN, N.Y. (AP) — A funeral is being held for a 19-year-old Paul Smith's College student from western New York who drowned after suffering a seizure and falling into an Adirondack lake.

Police say Nicolas Pendl died on campus Tuesday after a seizure caused him to tumble down an embankment into shallow water at the edge of Lower St. Regis Lake.

The resident of the town of Allegany in Cattaraugus County had a preexisting seizure disorder.

A funeral will be held Saturday at St. Bonaventure Church in Olean.
