CENTRAL, La. (AP) — The Central School Board has voted to give Superintendent Michael Faulk an almost perfect job evaluation and agreed to extend his contract one more year, meaning it won't expire until Dec. 31, 2016.
The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1pnYh3X ) Faulk is the only superintendent Central has had since it broke away from the East Baton Rouge Parish school system in 2007. During his tenure, Central schools have steadily improved their academic performance, added students, improved facilities and maintained a healthy financial reserve, currently about $11 million.
According to his contract, Faulk gets an annual raise plus more if he meets two performance objectives: maintaining a healthy budget reserve and earning a satisfactory evaluation.
He said Monday his base pay will increase from $122,000 to $126,000.
