"Dog Walker Watch" Goes National; Program Adds More "Eyes & Ears" To

Report Crime

WYNNEWOOD, Pa., April 23, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dog Walker

Watch (DWW), a new crime awareness program founded by the National

Association of Town Watch (NATW),

"There are millions of dog walkers around the country," said NATW

Executive Director Matt Peskin, creator of the program. "Through Dog

Walker Watch, we hope to convert many of those walkers to 'extra eyes

and ears' for local police and sheriff's departments. Dog walkers can

be an extremely valuable resource in helping to make our communities

safer." Peskin added that dog walkers are out at all hours of the day

and in all types of weather - and they know who belongs in their

neighborhood.

Law enforcement officers will conduct one-hour training sessions

during which citizens will be taught how to become more aware and

alert while they are out on their normal walks. Also, officer will

teach residents on how to effectively report suspicious activity to

9-1-1 using their cellphones.

Cities, towns and other organizations interested in additional

information on Dog Walker Watch should visit www.natw.org/dog.
