ATHENS, Ga. (AP) — A committee at the University of Georgia has been formed to launch a national search for the next dean of the Graduate School.

University officials said this week that Craig Kennedy, dean of the College of Education, will chair the search and screening committee. The committee is comprised of representatives from the faculty, staff and student body — along with members of the Graduate Council.

Current Dean Maureen Grasso was recently named the dean of the Graduate School at North Carolina State University. Grasso has been dean of the Graduate School since 2002.

Officials say Associate Dean Julie Coffield will serve as interim dean beginning June 5.
