BEND, Ore. (AP) — A Bend, Oregon, brewery has issued a voluntary recall of a sour, fruit beer it calls Swill, a result of reports of beer gushing from bottles and one bottle breaking.
A partner in the 10 Barrel brewery, Garrett Wales, tells the Bend Bulletin (http://bit.ly/1rN45DU) some of the summer seasonal beer continues to ferment in the bottles, increasing carbonation.
Wales says the company is working with distributors and retailers to get it off the shelves. The recall applies to 12- and 22-ounce bottles.
He says people who have bought the beer should use protective gloves and eyewear and then put the bottles in a closed box in a secure outdoor trash container. He says refunds are available via email: Swill@10barrel.com.
