RENO, Nev. (AP) — A man who was arrested after he told police he killed a woman Sunday at a Reno motel had been released from prison in September after serving more than 20 years for the murder of his fiance in southern Nevada. A review of state records by The Associated Press shows the Nevada Board of Parole granted 61-year-old Zollie Dumas parole last June 17 effective Sept. 1.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory and red flag fire warning for southern Nevada and parts of northwest Arizona. Clark County air quality officials in Las Vegas also issued a dust advisory today, with forecasters predicting gusty winds into the evening. Winds were expected to build to about 35 mph, with gusts to 45 mph during the afternoon.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Arson investigators are probing the cause of a weekend blaze in an automotive repair business across Interstate 15 from the Las Vegas Strip. No injuries were reported after the two-alarm fire Sunday morning behind a business called BWMs Only. Firefighters arrived to find fire inside and outside the business, with flames spreading to several vehicles parked nearby.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas will get $28 million through a tax credit program that encourages investments in low-income communities. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman announced today that the city received the award through the Treasury Department's New Markets Tax Credits program.
