JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State University has begun the search for a new study abroad program director following an internal audit that says the school's study abroad programs were unorganized.
The review was presented to school system president Charles Welch on Monday and given to the Board of Trustees. Auditors began reviewing the study abroad program after someone called to report concerns about two trips and the program's overall management.
The Jonesboro Sun (http://bit.ly/2adoRcK ) reports that university chancellor Tim Hudson's wife Deidra will stay on as director for a few more weeks, primarily due to trips already scheduled for the fall.
The university halted a search for a full-time director in February when the chancellor learned his wife could not be hired full-time due to the school's policy on spousal employment. Deidra Hudson holds the position part-time.
