SMYRNA, Tenn. (AP) — More than 80 Tennesseans with disabilities have celebrated the completion of workforce development and pre-vocational skills programs meant to help them reach their employment goals.
Students at the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center at Smyrna come from across the state.
The Tennessee Department of Human Services says the graduation ceremony last Friday culminated the completion of the students' vocational training programs. The programs include auto detailing and lubrication, retail, business education, food service, commercial cleaning, warehouse and grounds keeping.
The Tennessee Rehabilitation Center is a state-operated comprehensive rehabilitation facility.
Since opening its doors in 1977, the TRC has provided life and job skills training to about 34,000 Tennesseans living with disabilities.
