BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Avanti Senior Living says it will break ground later this year on a $20 million community in Baton Rouge and a $15 million development in Lafayette.
The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1dMUJqR) the company, based in suburban Houston, also plans to begin work later this year on a similar development in Covington. The company plans to close on an undisclosed site in the city by late fall.
Avanti says the Baton Rouge and Lafayette facilities will be 77,000-square-foot developments, with 50 assisted-living suites and 40 suites designed specifically for people with memory impairment. Both facilities will employ 60 people.
The Lafayette operation is scheduled to open at the end of 2016 and the Baton Rouge facility in early 2017.
