MISHAWAKA, Ind. (AP) — A library system in northern Indiana has cut 10 of its 80 employees as it implements reduced hours next week.
The South Bend Tribune (http://bit.ly/1Ed7yWq ) reports the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is trying to lower costs and curtail its use of loans to pay bills while waiting for tax revenue to come in. Four of the cut employees worked full time.
Susie Cleaver, the library's interim director, says it's "too early" to say how much the library will save from staff cuts. She says remaining staff will have added responsibilities.
