AKRON, Ohio (AP) — Newly released data shows that many Ohio seniors could be paying more for their prescription drug coverage next year.
An analysis of data released Thursday by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services shows that more than half the Medicare Part D prescription drug plans available in the state are increasing monthly premiums in 2015. That includes this year's cheapest option.
The Akron Beacon Journal (bit.ly/1qimV2P) reports that nearly 2 million Ohio residents covered by Medicare will be able to select from 31 optional Medicare Part D prescription drug plans in 2015, six fewer than this year.
The report shows that enrollees in Medicare Part D plans nationwide will pay an average $32 per month for drug coverage, about $1 more than this year.
