Outlook

Our next storm system will be moving in overnight and start to mix out the inversion. Expect a rain/snow mix to all snow in the valleys, with snow in the benches and mountains as well throughout the day on Thursday and into Friday morning. This is the first of 3 waves to move through over the next 6 days. Snow accumulations will generally be under 2" for the western valleys of Utah, and under 1" for the eastern valleys, with the exception of a few locally higher totals possible. Highs will warm a few degrees to the middle 30s. Southern Utah will continue to see light shower activity on and off on Friday, while northern Utah will dry out until Friday evening. Round 2 will linger into Sunday morning. Round 3 moves in Sunday afternoon through Tuesday morning. Dan Guthrie - KSL Weather 1.18.2017
