WEBER COUNTY -- Weber School District has banned a type of incense that can be smoked to produce a marijuana-like high.

Earlier this month KSL brought you a special investigation into the effects of smoking damiana, known as Spice, which is sold under several brand names, including Black Mamba.

Weber school district has now banned the product. District spokesman Nate Taggart says the district sent out a letter this week informing parents about the drug and the district's new policy.

"I think the majority of parents have no idea that this drug is out there," Taggart says.

Any student found on school grounds with the incense will be disciplined as if they had brought any other controlled substance on campus.
