BIG COTTONWOOD CANYON -- Salt Lake County sheriff's detectives are scouring an area near Brighton Ski Resort where a human skull was found.

A hiker found the skull Friday about 400 yards from the Millicent Ski Lift near the Brighton Water Cabin. Modern dental work indicates the skull may have been there for 20 or 30 years.

The medical examiner now has the skull and will work to determine an exact age and gender.

Detectives working near the ski resort are looking for other clues, bones and evidence that might be connected to the skull.
