PROVO, Utah (AP) -- Prosecutors have filed 21 felony charges against a former seminary principal for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.

Michael J. Pratt of Orem was charged Friday in district court with 10 counts of forcible sodomy, seven counts of object rape and two counts of rape -- all first-degree felonies.

The 37-year-old Pratt also was charged with two second-degree felonies of forcible sex abuse.

Pratt was arrested July 9 after he was accused of checking the girl out of school without her parents' permission and taking her to various locations for sexual encounters.

He was principal of Lone Peak High School's LDS seminary when he was arrested. The church terminated him as soon as the allegations surfaced.
