SUMMIT COUNTY -- The Utah Highway Patrol has identified a motorcyclist who died in Parley's Canyon Friday.

Troopers say Charles Taylor, of West Jordan, was driving east on I-80 near Jeremy Ranch when a car swerved into his lane.

Taylor slammed on his brakes to avoid the car but didn't slow down in time. His bike crashed into the back of the car, then flipped several times. Taylor was thrown from the motorcycle onto the road.

Emergency crews flew Taylor to the hospital, where he died 10 minutes after arrival.

Troopers say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
