SALT LAKE CITY -- The field of competitors to run against Bob Bennett for his Senate seat is getting more crowded.

Republican activist and Holladay businesswoman Cherilyn Eagar officially put her name in the running Thursday for the U.S. Senate in 2010.

"My mother stopped off at the poll on Election Day to vote before she went to the hospital to have me, so you could say I was born Republican," Eagar said.

She joins Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff, Utah County GOP Chairman Tim Bridgewater and South Jordan businessman James Williams in the race.
