PROVO -- Utah County drivers had a tough commute home Friday night. Several accidents caused miles of backup in the southbound lanes of I-15 in Provo.

The most recent accident occurred near the University Parkway exit. Utah Highway Patrol troopers say the driver of a pickup truck didn't see traffic slowing in front of him until it was too late.

The truck hit the vehicle in front of him. This caused a chain reaction of accidents with vehicles whose drivers did not have time to react.

One person was flown to the hospital; all others involved received minor injures.

A separate accident at mile marker 261 near the Springville exit proved deadly earlier Friday afternoon.

Three adults and two children were in the car when it rolled. UHP troopers say a 50-year-old woman died in the crash, and everyone else was injured.

The children, ages 5 and 7, were flown to Primary Children's Medical Center.

Troopers have not yet released the names of those involved in that accident. They are investigating the cause.
