SNOWBASIN RESORT, Weber County — A 28-year-old woman who died Monday in a motorcycle crash near Snowbasin Resort has been identified.

Jennifer Anderson, from Clearfield, was riding her sports bike when she lost control rounding a corner on Trapper's Loop, police said. A doctor who witnessed the accident stopped his car to help and call 911.

Anderson was wearing a helmet and riding jacket but suffered severe injuries to her leg, arm and neck, said Weber County Sheriff's Sgt. Lane Findlay. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

"She was wearing a helmet and taking some precautions, but obviously it's a mountainous road, a lot of winding curves and inclines, and according to witnesses, she was traveling at an extremely high rate of speed, which would be dangerous for that roadway," Findlay said.

The accident is under investigation but excessive speed is believed to be the primary cause of the crash.
