SALT LAKE CITY — A man was robbed by a man and woman who entered his home Tuesday evening, police said.

Salt Lake City police detective Cody Lougy said the robbery occurred near 1400 W. Glenrose Drive around 5 p.m. A man was at his home sleeping in a back bedroom when he heard a knock on the door. He opened the door, thinking the visitor was a family member, and a male and female pushed the door open and entered the bedroom, Lougy said.

The male robber pointed a handgun at the victim while he took his cash, cellphone and wallet, Lougy said. The man hit the victim in the back of the head as he and the female accomplice exited the house. The victim called police and received medical treatment at the scene for minor injuries.

One robber was described as a white male between 16 and 18 years old with short blond hair. He was wearing a black shirt, black gloves and Levi jeans at the time of the robbery, police said. The other robber was described as a Hispanic female around 30 years old with black and blond hair. She was wearing black jeans and an Army style shirt at the time of the robbery.

Police are investigating whether the robbers had any connection to the victim or if he was specifically targeted. Anyone with information about the robbery can contact Salt Lake City police at 801-799-3000.
