PRICE — A woman has found the good Samaritans who she said saved her life. Lacey Austin had been searching since her accident three weeks ago. KSL found the family and set up their first meeting since the wreck.

“We searched, but we just couldn’t find ya,” said Donavon Kay, good Samaritan.

“I did the same thing. I searched and searched for you,” said Lacey Austin.

The Kay family lives in Arizona but had been visiting Utah at the time of the accident.

“We weren’t even going to go, but then we changed. I don’t even know why, said Kegan Kay, good Samaritan.

The usually fast-paced bunch took their time sight-seeing and taking photos before driving through Spanish Fork Canyon. That's when by chance Tera Kay peered over the embankment and saw Austin's car near the railroad tracks.

“How she was even able to see it down there I have no idea,” said Donavon Kay.

Austin had been in a car with two friends when the driver tried to pass a car, overcorrected and rolled down an embankment. The car stopped next to railroad tracks. Lacey was trapped in the car and unable to move.

The Kay family saw a train quickly approaching. With a quick pull, Austin was taken into safety. She suffered a concussion and a broken neck, but because of the family, paramedics said Austin escaped becoming paralyzed by a mere centimeter.

“I do think you guys saved my life. Yeah, you guys were meant to be there,” said Austin.

“We’re just so grateful you’re OK and doing well,” said Tera Kay.

“Family for life,” said Donavon Kay.

“You’ve been in our prayers for weeks,” said Tera Kay.

“Well thank you, you guys. I really hope we do stay in touch forever, I hope,” said Austin.

The Kay family travels to Utah once a year. They said next year they'll stop in Price and meet Austin face to face.
