TAYLORSVILLE — Police issued an Endangered Missing Advisory (EMA) for a toddler Tuesday evening after the man she was supposedly staying with fled during an arrest attempt.

Sophea Larsen, 15 months, was supposed to be in the custody of a man named Jaimie Webb, the Unified Police Department said. A warrant for Webb's arrest had been issued, and police were attempting to remove the girl from his custody and return her to her mother Tuesday afternoon.

When police contacted Webb Tuesday afternoon on Aspen Lane in Taylorsville, the man fled on foot, officers said. The toddler was not in his car or nearby. Webb is a transient and is currently homeless, officers said. Police searched the area and were not able to locate the girl.

Sophea's welfare is a concern. Police said since Webb was homeless, it's difficult to locate where Sophea might be at this time.

Sophea weighs 18 pounds, has brown eyes and brown hair, and is 24 inches tall.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Webb or Sophea are encouraged to call UPD at 801-743-7000.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
