SALT LAKE CITY — A man who went missing from a care center Monday evening was found safe Tuesday afternoon.
Bobbie Bond, 76, was found at Westminster College around 2 p.m. Paramedics were evaluating him, but "he is safe and will be reunited with family," Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said.
Bond was last seen at the Mt. Olympus Rehabilitation Center, 2200 E. 3300 South, at 6:30 p.m. Monday. Security cameras showed him leaving the center at the same time, Hoyal said.
Unified police searched the area surrounding the center "extensively" Monday but could not find the man, Hoyal said.
Police were concerned Bond would not be able to find his way back to the center because he has severe dementia, and it was his first day at the facility. Police were also worried about Bond not being dressed appropriately for the cold overnight temperatures.
