MILFORD — Investigators say a house fire in Milford was intentionally set. The homeowner was in police custody after an apparent suicide attempt.

Emergency dispatchers received a call around 1 p.m. Wednesday about a structure fire near 215 West and 2100 South, according to the Beaver County Sheriff’s Office.

Crews arrived and quickly determined the home and a couple of surrounding structures had been intentionally set on fire.

The woman who lives in the home was not there, and police launched an effort to find her.

They located her an hour and a half later, about three miles away.

She was taken to a local hospital due to a drug overdose and apparent suicide attempt, the sheriff’s office said.
