WEST VALLEY CITY — A man was taken to a hospital in critical condition after being stabbed during an altercation Thursday evening.
The stabbing occurred around 3 p.m. near 6400 W. 3700 South, according to West Valley City Lt. Dalan Taylor. Taylor said that a man was visiting his ex-wife at her home when an altercation broke out between him and her boyfriend.
Taylor said that the ex-husband, 32- year-old Levi Strickland allegedly stabbed 35-year-old Neal Pehrson in the side during the altercation. Strickland left the scene after the stabbing, but later returned to the residence and was arrested by West Valley City police officers.
Paramedics transported the victim to a local area hospital. The victim was in critical condition.
Strickland was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail in connection with attempted homicide charges.
