OGDEN — A resident escaped safely but a dog was killed in a house fire in Ogden.
The fire was reported around 1 a.m. in a two-story house near 1960 Jackson Avenue, according to Ogden firefighters.
The one person inside the house got out uninjured and was waiting for firefighters when they arrived. The dog however, did not make it out alive.
The fire was contained to a bedroom, but other areas of the house had smoke and water damage.
Investigators are trying to determine what started the fire. The Red Cross is helping the sole resident of the house find a new place to stay.
