Marc Giauque reportingA Salt Lake woman is unhurt after her car crashes into a building, leaving her perched above her neighbor's patio.
The accident happened near 2000 East and 980 South.
The car's front end was sitting on a wall, and the rear end appeared suspended 6 feet over a patio.
Keven Johansen watched it happen from the window of his condo. He said, "I heard a squeal of tires. I thought, ‘That's weird, that never happens in the common area.' Then I saw the Taurus just shoot across the common area."
Johansen says the elderly woman told him she turned on the ignition, and the car shot into reverse.
Fire crews used a step ladder to get her down. The building was not heavily damaged.
