PARK CITY — Whether or not you have tickets to a screening, Sundance is an interesting time to head up to Park City.
If you were lucky and quick enough to score some tickets, or if you just want to head up to Park City for an afternoon, we’ve got some suggestions for making a day of it.
Hit the slopes
This one may seem obvious, considering Park City is home to three ski resorts. Bring your gear, purchase a lift ticket for half the day and enjoy the greatest snow on Earth before or after your film.
If skiing and snowboarding isn’t your thing, take a ride on a dogsled or tube at Gorgoza Park.
Gallery stroll

Bundle up and walk through Main Street’s many galleries to get inspired. Talk with gallery attendants about the pieces and look up your favorite artists featured in Park City. If the artists are local, check into their next exhibit and continue the experience.
Spot the stars
Even if you’re too cool to admit it’s cool to see celebrities, you can have fun spotting them in Park City. Film stars are a dime a dozen around the Egyptian Theatre. See how many you recognize (and how many you only recognize much later).
Town lift
Take a peaceful ride through Park City and ski or board right back into town, if you want, on the town lift. Bring some hot chocolate and your favorite person for some time to chat in quiet and check out the view.
Visit the other venues
Salt Lake and Ogden are both hosting screenings throughout the festival.
In Salt Lake, the Sicilia Pizza Kitchen is hosting several musical performances that are free to the public.
Downtown Ogden Inc. and Historic 25th Street Association is hosting festivities and businesses are offering festival discounts.
