SALT LAKE CITY — A woman who made headlines this past summer for leaving her infant alone in a stroller in the Avenues is back in jail.

Jamie Dawn Todd, 32, was charged in July with abuse or neglect of a child, a third-degree felony. A jogger found Todd's 2-month-old boy in a stroller parked under a tree near 260 North and A Street in the Avenues about 5:30 a.m. on July 8. In the baby's diaper bag, investigators found drug paraphernalia.

Nearly five hours after the infant was found, Todd contacted police reporting her child was missing.

On Nov. 14, Todd took a plea in abeyance, pleading no contest to third-degree felony child abuse. As part of the conditions of her plea deal, Todd was ordered to successfully complete drug court, submit to random drug checks, and stay away from "spice, Ivory Wave or items of that nature," according to court records.

During a review hearing Dec. 5, Todd was found to be noncompliant with the conditions of her release and ordered to do an additional five hours of community service.

At a second review hearing Thursday, Todd was again found to be noncompliant and ordered to spend five days in jail, according to court records.

Another review hearing is scheduled for Jan. 2. The baby was taken into protective custody in July.
