FILLMORE — It's been less than a week since Josh Robison died, just hours after his wife gave birth. His family is still healing. It will take time, they say, but the community is helping them get through.
"When you see somebody you know, you just burst into tears because you know they hurt just as bad as you do," Jaren Robison, Josh's father, said Monday.
Jaren and his wife, Jodi, have received an overwhelming gift of support over the last few days, mostly from people they've never met.
A donation page* on a website called GiveForward.com was created last weekend by friends who had little money but wanted to help the family. Since the page went online, more than 1,000 people have contributed a total of nearly $60,000.
"You can't put into words what these people have done," Jaren Robison said.
Each donation will go to the well-being of Josh's widow, Erica, and their newborn son, Logan.

Days before Erica was expected to give birth, Josh developed flu-like symptoms. Doctors discovered he had a treatable staph infection, and the infection was traced to a valve in his heart.
Josh underwent surgery last week and was able to witness the birth of his son Thursday. But hours afterward, he developed a headache and doctors determined he was bleeding in his brain. Josh died the following evening in the same hospital where his son was born.
While the family says doctors still cannot explain Josh's sudden death, they know one thing for certain.
"He's close by," Jaren Robison said. "He's watching over his wife and son."
A viewing for Josh Robison will be held Friday, Dec. 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Flowell Utah LDS church building in Fillmore. His funeral will begin at 1 p.m., and family members say the public is welcome.
