MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE — A convenience store employee who claimed she was kidnapped during a robbery has been arrested in connection with the crime. Investigators originally thought her son was responsible, but now they say the two worked together.

Detectives from the Weber County Sheriff's Office arrested Pamela Rose Titensor, 49, of Clearfield, Thursday afternoon, the sheriff's office said.

They said Titensor was working as a manager at the Maverik located in Marriott-Slaterville on Oct. 27. She claimed to have been kidnapped at gunpoint in the parking lot as she was leaving to deposit money at a bank that morning.

Titensor told investigators a masked assailant forced her into her vehicle and made her drive to Slaterville Park, where he then zip-tied her hands to the steering wheel and made off with the money.

Detectives became suspicious when evidence led them to Titensor's 24-year-old son, David Conerly, of Ogden. He was arrested and told investigators the theft was an elaborate ruse. He admitted to conspiring with his mother to steal the money, police said.

Titensor claimed she didn't know her son was the robber.

She was booked into the Weber County Jail for investigation of theft, obstruction of justice, criminal solicitation, and making a false police report.

Conerly faces felony theft charges for his alleged involvement.
