TAYLORSVILLE — Two men were hospitalized Wednesday after a truck crashed into a home and hit them while they were sitting on a couch in the living room.
The two men, ages 52 and 59, were at the home at 5784 Ferron Circle when a Chevy pickup truck pulling trailer drove into the living room just before 2 p.m., Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said.
A medical condition reportedly caused the truck's 54-year-old driver to crash, Hoyal said. The driver had just left a nearby home when the accident occurred.
All three men were transported to Intermountain Medical Center, Hoyal said. One of the men in the home was taken in serious condition, while the other was in fair condition. Both sustained head injuries.
"Fortunately in this case, injuries to those who were inside the home weren't worse than what they were," Hoyal said. "They did suffer serious injuries, but they could have been much worse."
No updates were available Wednesday regarding the condition of the driver, who did not sustain injuries in the crash but was being treated for a medical condition. He was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
