MT. PLEASANT, Sanpete County — Police were looking Friday at whether alcohol and hypothermia contributed to the death of a 17-year-old boy.

The body of a teen from the area was found Friday near 150 East and 50 North in a creek, the Sanpete County Sheriff's Office said.

"It appears the juvenile suffered from hypothermia. It is also believed that alcohol was a contributing factor," the sheriff's office reported.

The name of the juvenile was not released. An autopsy and toxicology tests were being conducted. Results of those tests were not expected for several weeks.

Several law enforcement agencies were assisting Mt. Pleasant police with the investigation.
