OGDEN — The co-owner of an Ogden restaurant pleaded no contest this week to having unlawful sexual conduct with a teenage dishwasher.

Jennifer Hasratian, owner of El Matador restaurant at 2564 Ogden Ave., was charged Oct. 7 with unlawful sexual conduct with a 16-year-old, a third-degree felony. She pleaded no contest to the charge on Tuesday. In exchange for her plea, prosecutors agreed not to pursue any additional charges "out of this same case," according to the court docket.

Hasratian is scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 7.

The victim had worked at the restaurant for several months, according to his mother.

The woman, who asked not to be identified to protect her son, said she had hoped for more serious charges. She said she found out about the alleged conduct in July after her son's second suicide attempt. A nurse learned of inappropriate behavior while the teen was in the hospital and told his mother. The mother said she then found evidence on her son's cellphone.

The boy's mother said her son is on medication and going to therapy now for his anxiety and other issues.
