NORTH OGDEN — A body was discovered by some kids in a park in North Ogden Thursday evening.

A couple of juveniles were playing basketball at Barker Park at 2492 N. Barker Parkway when they discovered a body around 4 p.m., according to North Ogden Police Detective Paul Rhoades.

Rhoades said the body was discovered behind the amphitheater of the park in a wooded area. The body was found in a dry stream bed.

The teenagers went home and reported the incident to the North Ogden Police. The body found is a female, and Rhoades said the woman does not appear to be a transient.

There is no indication of foul play in connection with the incident, according to Rhoades but there were some minor injuries acquired from the wooded area.

"The area is a wooded area with blackberry bushes, nothing obvious that would indicate cause of death," Rhoades said.

The identity of the woman has not been released pending notification of the family.

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be posted as it becomes available.
