MILLCREEK — The Unified Police Department said a man who wandered away from a care center in Millcreek has been found safe.

Lei Finau, 49, has advanced stages of dementia and had been last seen at the Willow Wood Care Center, where he lives, around midnight, according to Lt. Justin Hoyal of the Unified Police Department.

Staff at the facility, located at 1205 E. 4725 South, reported him missing around 2 a.m. and police issued an Endangered Missing Advisory for him.

Hoyal said a citizen located Finau at a McDonald's at 4200 S. Redwood Road and alerted police. Finau was returned to the center.

Finau has previously gone missing and was located at different businesses in Salt Lake County.
