PROVO — Search and rescue teams in Utah County rescued an injured hiker Sunday who spent Saturday night on Mount Timpanogos.
A woman hiking with her boyfriend slipped and hurt her knee Saturday while hiking up hill.
The injury was too severe for the woman to walk down the mountain so search and rescue teams were called.
A group of rescuers spent the night with the couple until a helicopter could rescue the woman.
Other hikers familiar with the area say under normal circumstances it is an easy trail.
"If you were to trip and fall or something, it's a long walk out. If you got hurt, I could see it would be pretty difficult to get out," said David Booth, a fellow hiker.
