Editor's note: The robbery was originally incorrectly reported at a different dealership, but has since been corrected.LOGAN — Police were asking for the public's help Tuesday in finding a man who walked out of a used car dealership with a pocketful of cash.

Just before 10 a.m., a man was at Rich's Cars and Credit, 95 W. 400 North, when he allegedly noticed a large amount of cash sitting on a counter, according to police. The money was going to be used by the business to purchase another vehicle to sell, said Logan Assistant Police Chief Jeff Curtis.

Curtis declined to say how much cash was stolen, but noted it was a large amount. Investigators believe it was a crime of opportunity for the suspect, and he did not originally go into the dealership with the intent of finding money on a counter and taking it.

Detectives were reviewing surveillance video from both the auto dealership and other nearby businesses.

Anyone with information on the case can call Logan police detective Robert Olson at 435-716-9300.
