WEST VALLEY CITY — About 10,000 people are expected gather this morning to say their final goodbyes to Sgt. Derek Johnson. The Friday morning procession will go all the way from West Valley City to Draper and then on to Sandy. With all the people, there will be some delays on the roads.

The cars in the procession will leave and take I-215, then head south on I-15 until 12300 South.

From there the processional will drive to 1700 East and the final stop will be at the Larkin Sunset Gardens at the corner of 10600 South and 1700 East.

If you are driving in that area, expect major delays Friday morning. The processional will not proceed at freeway speeds. Other drivers will be allowed to pass on the left, but access to off-ramps will be limited.

The funeral starts Friday at 11 a.m. at the Maverick Center. We will be live streaming the service on ksl.com as people make their way to support the Johnson family.
