SALT LAKE CITY — A security guard at a Salt Lake Walmart was stabbed in the hand during an attempted theft, police said.
Salt Lake City police said a shoplifter walked past the cash registers without paying at the Walmart located at 350 Hope Avenue Friday morning.
A store security officer tried to stop him but the shoplifter pulled out a sharp object and cut the officer on the hand.
The injury was minor and the security guard was not transported to a hospital.
