ST. GEORGE (AP) — A 30-year-old St. George man convicted of raping two children over a year and a half is headed to prison for at least 50 years.
Shon Turner pleaded guilty in May to raping a child who lived in his neighborhood and child that was a relative from 2011 to 2013 at his home and a Salt Lake City-area motel.
Both children were younger than 8-years-old.
Turner pleaded guilty in May to two counts of raping a child.
The Spectrum reports Turner apologized in court on Tuesday.
His attorney Rob Latham has argued in court that Turner may have suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder from his military service.
Judge Eric Ludlow told Turner on Tuesday that his conduct "sickens me."
